Request from the North Dakota Department of Water Resources the separation of 1,500 acre-feet from Valley City’s existing perfected water permit no. 1096 for the purpose of adding the same volume to a new perfected water permit from the Sheyenne River for Valley City’s municipal water uses.

Commissioner Gulmon made a motion to not proceed with Project No. UGP-2-990(068) and to notify NDDOT the City will not be utilizing the Urban Grant Funds dedicated to this project.

Review cost details of assessment notices and other items.
City Assessor Drabus reported on cost of assessment notices being around $1800.00 and will include additional cost in annual budgets moving forward. City Assessor also reported on the Board of Equalization Meeting on 04.14.2026 and reviewed properties that came in to protest.

City Updates & Commission Reports
City Engineer Peterson informed commissioners that he is working on social media information for seal coat project.
City Commissioner Erickson remined everyone the city clean up week is May 11-16, 2026. Public Works will begin crack sealing around town soon so be aware when driving.
