City Updates and Commission Reports
City Finance Director Klein stated election is fast approaching and packets will be ready to start circulating as of Jan 1.
Police Chief Horner reported after the recent snowstorm, the city issued 72-hour parking citations to vehicles that had not been moved. Some residents asked why they didn’t receive the usual 72-hour warning tag. After snow events, warnings are not given because it’s easy to tell if a vehicle hasn’t moved (no tire tracks or snow cleared). The goal is to clear streets for snow removal. Vehicles left unmoved on city streets for more than 72 hours after a snow event are cited without warning.
Commissioner Erickson informed on Electronic Clean up week set for Jan. 12-16, 2026. Reminder to have garbage container and dumpster area cleared of snow.
City Engineer Eslinger reported the funding for NW standpipe was approved. Will be mailing out notice of award. Working with NDDEQ for water service line testing.
